Battle Aces - Trailer concept work 01

I had the pleasure of working on the trailer for battle aces at the concept stage.
My responsibility was designing all of the spaceship interior, which would then be interpreted by the animation's background department.

These are the schematic layout sketches and initial style explorations I did on the project.

A schematic for the overall layout of rooms and their look. This was done after most of the rooms were figured out to get a sense of the flow for shots. The exterior is my take on sketches done by Alex Thomas, the artist who tackled the ship exterior.

Initial schematic layouts of the rooms, based on an older script. This was eventually changed to the more open interior you see in the trailer and final schematic.

These were the first concept I did when joining the project. At this stage the goal was to define the approach to tech and the overall style based on the brief.

A big centerpiece was the core that the ace pilots use to control their armies. These ended up not being used since they wanted to use the core they had already designed in-game, but was fun to take a stab at nonetheless.
