My work on the beam gloves, one of the more intricate weapons we designed for Ascendant:Infinity.
The final production sheets for the beam gloves. The beam gloves were a bit trickier because they are worn as gloves, and consist of 2 different devices each having their own function.
A sketch to highlight where the battery is for reload animations.
Each device needed to be able to fold away, since the player is able to climb while holding the weapon. Both were figured out, but only the left hand had an animation rendered out because of it's complexity.
The first pass of sketches, figuring out a line-up of ideas for the different devices.
Second pass of sketches, trying out these 2 combinations. The controller device and forearm-mounted firing device were then combined to form the final design.
These quick sketches were done to find some shapes for the actual firing part of the beam gloves.
